it takes a conscious effort (and a bit of planning) to create those moments of "spontaneity" when we can reunite amidst the business of everyday life. at least for me that's how it feels.

Yes, I will also add being physically and emotionally attracted to your spouse/significant other helps with the "simmer"... I see so many people who are roommates that happened to be married, absolutely no sizzle.
