You need to install a Lightning wallet to zap and also get a Lightning adress to get zapped.

One option is Wallet of Satoshi. Once installed tap Receive, then copy the “email address” that WoS gave you as your Lightning address, and paste that on your profile on the tips field.

I think i installed an alby wallet already but I have no idea if it works, should I just ask someone to zap me 1 sat? I was on here awhile ago and needed a new phone so I created a new profile

Got it on my Wallet of Satoshi. I set one of those up awhile ago, I had kept asking people HOW DO I ZAP A NOTE?

I kept getting some random link that just showed an ON/OFF switch.

Clicked that, nothing. Over and over people were sending me random links that just led to an ON/OFF switch on a blank screen. I figured I may have set up something wrong.

Finally just deleted my account entirely and am trying again from scratch.

I thought maybe I’d try setting up Zapple Pay on this phone , no luck. Signed up for an Alby wallet, tried to follow the instructions listed, over and over:

An Error Has Occurred.

Switched back to wallet of satoshi, after someone finally mentioned that Apple banned zaps on notes. This is after so many times asking for help, saying that I was on Damus on a iPhone.

Ok, so the reason why you can’t zap is precisely that. There’s a version under App Store review right now for which the on/off switch website reenables zap functionality. But the version you’re using is not compatible with.

The momentary solution would be to get someone to send you an invite to Damus’ TestFlight, which also works with the on/off switch website.

No, not your fault at all.

You could also maybe give Plebstr a try. I can’t remember if their current App Store version has zaps or not.

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous you could also try Sideus, which is what I’m currently using actually. I’m waiting for Damus 1.6 to be approved to go back to regular Damus.

Sideus is a form of Damus that preserves zaps. You have to side load it on your iPhone.

I’m not very technically adept at all so I’ll just stick with what I’ve got here. Honestly I don’t care THAT much about zapping individual notes when I can just zap someone and write a note with the zap. It’s like sending a postcard. Plus, I only ever accumulated a few thousands zaps, which is about equal to a few cups of coffee.
