Add relay to products. And it's unclear what it does with my pubkey.

I will add the relay. What is unclear with a pubkey? You mean relay.nostr.band/npubXXX ?

No, if I go to nostr.band, nos2x pops up and it asks to sign in with my pubkey. Unclear what that does on the page.

Ah thanks, will remove that. You used to be able to click 'follow' and 'reply' right there on the site, I disabled those features, there are other apps for that.

why does snort only search on nostr.band? does it have any special search capabilities?

There is NIP-50 for search, nostr.band relay is the only one that supports it properly.
