Maby you know this. Does keychat do what nostr:nprofile1qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskuep0qyt8wumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcprpmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumfv9khxarj9e3k7mf0qqs9ajjs5p904ml92evlkayppdpx2n3zdrq6ejnw2wqphxrzmd62swsvyu5nm does? I was just installing 0xchat and was asking this to me. And the bitcoin connection was why I decided for 0xchat over keychat. Do I have to pay in order to use keychat?

Thank you for the fast response. I think 0xChat does have this kind of encryption of NIP-17 too. I am not sura about the signal-protocol implementation. Great to hear this is implemented on keychat.
But when a person is not using keychat. They will still belable to read my messages on #0xchat, #amethyst or #coracle ?
0xChat does not use the superior double-ratchet (Signal) protocol to handle message encryption. When it comes to encryption, Keychat is definitely better than NIP-17.
Some relays are paid so that you pay 1 sat for every sent message. But other relays are free and toss messages without cost. I was initially critical of the pay-per-message scheme, but after using it I see its value and believe it can make conversations higher quality. It also helps fund the operation of the relays which ensures they'll be there when you need them, and operating optimally. It makes perfect sense in the v4v paradigm. But again, you can opt to use free relays, like Damus and 0xChat, if you prefer.
I'd really like to see better integration with Nostr clients. It's kinda odd how Keychat, which is fully powered by nostr, is sorta on the sidelines, and exists as a completely seperate entity. I think if you're using a client, you should at the least be able to tap a button and launch a Keychat instance that's automatically authenticated through the client, or an automatic call to Amber or a NIP-07 browser extension. Make it seamless so that seperate authentication isn't required.
Next, I'd like to see notifications integrated into the client so that if someone sends you a message, you get a notification either directly through the client or through Pokey. And tapping on that notification brings you directly to that conversation.
I think these types of integrations will greatly increase the Keychat userbase, and boost secure communications throughout nostr.
