AI is exciting to me not because of what it can do for software developers but because of what it can do for entrepreneurs who are not developers.

Many businesses can be created with minimal software and LLMs are a decent way to get to a minimal passable product that solves a very specific problem. It won’t build you a giant platform but it’s good enough to validate an idea and to test demand. Soon enough it could be good enough to build a business.

I see many developers arguing about the quality of code etc .. and they are right - it can and often sucks. But, people with problems don’t care about code quality - they just want their problems solved. “Yeah but it is production-quality code?!” Ok dude - no one cares. Yes, it matters if you want maintainable software that doesn’t crash and burn during the first bug encounter but if you can validate an idea and address a need, you can afford to invest money into that idea and create a quality product.

My 2 sats.

Devs agree I think, they're probably more salty with every tech CEO/youtuber promising to take their jobs ad nauseum for the past two years. Just two more weeks I guess.

Ai is going to be a bigger gateway drug to coding proper than the no code tools are I reckon.

VERY WELL SAID!! THIS IS THE WAY

One hundred percent! 💯

I have been trying to learn python for 15 years and never stack with it. Now any idea I have I get a working python code in no time! No more abandoned ideas..! 🔥

For sure working with the AI can be frustrating at times and the code weird but in the end I get the result I wanted.

Biggest struggle for me is trying to use the selfhosted webui/Ollama with models less than 10B and that's very hit and miss. Still trying new models to settle and get confident. I think the qwen2.5-coder is my favourite for now, but I might be losing my time and need to just use chatgpt... At least there is also Frankie-GPT when I get very frustrated with my models 😅

magicschool.ai is probably the biggest proof of this. Built by non-developers and apparently generating tens of millions in ARR if not MRR.
