With the arival of wall Street, I feel like this decoupling has become somewhat less likely,or at the very least prolonged and delayed. Bitcoin has been largely chained to these movements, and we can realistically only speculate how it will react in the event of a black swan.
The issue I see is with bankers putting their wealth into assets to appreciate their portfolios, they will use Bitcoin as any other investment vehicle for they do not care about its unique value proposition since they have a fiat mindset. This leaves it vulnerable to them dumping their Bitcoin as they would with any other asset once a crisis hits. I think we would need to see a currency, specifically USD "collapse" to facilitate a decoupling. Stock markets would likely drag Bitcoin down with them since fiat is there for them as a 'safe' and 'stable' asset.
