The issue is trying to design it to be simple and cheap.

I figure one word at a time to keep the length manageable and a set of up and down buttons to scroll through the words in the list.

Oh, and I suppose a digit to indicate where in the list the word is.

I'd have to get the bip39 word list to figure out the longest word in the list, as that would need to be the minimum characters.

I'm pretty sure the entire list only requires the first four characters of a given word. A nostr:npub17tyke9lkgxd98ruyeul6wt3pj3s9uxzgp9hxu5tsenjmweue6sqq4y3mgl - style open source implementation that you can build and print would be fucking cool.

There's a part of me that wonders if you couldn't implement the braille using something like Lego Technic, lol, but now Im just thinking outloud

This should be able to be "attached" to a seedsigner to allow the seed phrase to be "displayed" for reading. Or through a companion app. That's beyond my scope. I'm just thinning about the physical implementation.

It would be good if there are any blind or people with low vision bitcoiners out there we could talk to about form factor and just hear them out.

There were some I met, but I’ve lost contact with them. Very likely because their needs were not being addressed.

Thank you Daniel. I used to work for a company that would place people with disabilities in real jobs but unfortunately that was before my bitcoin days, but there must be some way to find the overlap again. I would love to hear their thoughts on this kind of project.

My mother did the same thing for years before she retired.

The best part was that the company was for profit. It was a proud thing for me to say 1) we're doing doing charity we're filling a need, these people kick your employees asses, put them to work; and 2) we're trying to put ourselves out of business here because really this company shouldn't have to exist.

*not a charity is what I meant

Neat project--but thinking it'd help to actually find some blind folks to help with the design and workflow...

It's hard for me to imagine what might work best for them...I might think I have some good ideas, but I'm not sure that'd be ultimately true....

Yup.

Blind bitcoiners are in pretty short supply, though. 😁

Seek and ye shall find...

I'm betting we have some Nostriches that could help? Maybe a family member or such?
