I tried to watch a YouTube video and within 1 minute there was a pharmaceutical commercial.
As of this day forward I'm no longer watching YouTube for anything. It's all garbage.
May YouTube end up in the waste bin of civilization.

Ad blockers are your friend. If this happened while using one, then I totally get where you're coming from.
Hmm this is a prospective I have not considered. I think that I'm being targeted because my wife says YouTube is fine for her.
The Algorithm is directly attraction me so I'm countering with the threat that we on NOSTR will replace YouTube.

IIRC, YouTube has been floated financially by its parent since inception. The ads and pitches for subscriptions are invasive. Brave browser might work for you.
