That's not good.

Yeesh, any official word on what’s going on?

No word from them… I’ve seen exchanges eat shit so many times I’m not that optimistic. Seems weird there’s not even an in-app support notification about temporary delays.

There is…

Why the FUD mate?

There is a live status in the app that reports any affected problem.

Similar to validating the receiving address it is always good to verify the system status of whatever platform you will be using before a transaction.

It was clearly indicated that they had issue with a third party. Also, #shakepay has a good support team that could resolve any issues.

I think you were quick on the trigger for this one and I really don’t know why people would Zap your post with FUD.

Not for nothing: I just purchased and sent to cold storage, no issues. I could be wrong but this appears to be an issue for people transferring their Bitcoin ONTO the on-ramp vs. not being able to get Bitcoin OFF.

Any further ā„¹ļø ?

Deposit some just to check if it happens with you.

I have had zero problems with Shakepay. Transferred to hardware wallet yesterday, no problem. Sent in a fiat transfer, no problem. Did my shake and buy this morning, no problem.

Looks like they’re struggling with bitcoin deposits. (This confirmed onchain 13 hrs ago)

Yes, as stated above, there is a status in the app itself.

Jesus they rely on third parties for processing incoming bitcoin transactions? Red flag.

šŸ‘€šŸ’€

Red flag for what? They’ve always been transparent with their structure. They use a third party for cold storage.

Nonetheless:

1- before interacting with any platform you should always validate it’s status if available (in this case you have it in Discord and the app itself)

2- there are better options for ā€œoff-rampā€ with BTC

3- Shakepay have always recommended to keep your coins in self custody. They are a simple way to ramp-on, they have a nice prepaid Visa card giving cashback in sats and you shake your phone for sats.

In my opinion this was uncalled for since there was already a Status Notification regarding the issue.

They aren’t an exchange.

your funds are currently in limbo, although confirmed. have you set up max fee in anticipation of a faster delivery? where you given an ETA on the blockchain? there should be an ETA if it says the funds have been confirmed. how far away from the ETA provided?

The only thing I don’t like from Shakepay is the ether symbol on my wallet , everything else is good so far .

Of course no one should keep their bitcoin on exchanges.
