Egypt Trip: [█████████████▉]

Egypt’s ancient sites truly are incredible , but the experience around them is tough. Preservation feels neglected, the stories told don’t match modern knowledge, and daily life as a tourist is a challenge, food is poor and woefully overpriced, the streets are like a battlefield with scams and aggressive touts everywhere. Respect for women is often absent, which made things even harder for me to keep my cool. (I lost it twice) There’s so much history here and plenty worth seeing, but honestly, I don’t think I’d return unless the catacombs are opened, an alien craft was discovered or the modern Egyptians left. I think I’d only recommend it if you went on a high end tour that avoided having to interact with anyone other than the bare minimum.
