I donβt have the context of this quote, but the first part seems partly true but the second half seems dangerously wrong.
Is there a link can go to to learn more context?

Oh I see. You shared it not in support of the idea but to highlight the crazy
Thank you. A quick glance of his own self-description gave me all I needed to know about who said the quote. π
Btw, would be cool if you set up a lightning address so people could zap you.
Been working on that for a while. I do not (and will not) use phone apps. (I am testing open OSes, Fedora and android derivatives, on Pinephone.) I will build it for Fedora, or use a custodial web wallet.
All the suggestions people have made were not accepting new customers. I have had self-custody BTC since its inception. Do you have a non-phoneapp recommendation for Lightning wallet? Currently investigating strike.me (zap) which is said to be on github and is a self-custody LN. I did not want to deal with self-custody for layer 2, but have been assured it is not that hard for leaf nodes - which apparently only needs to be up when you (and other local users) are using it.
Is not using phone apps for security, privacy, or other reason?
Mutiny or other progressive web app based wallet would all you to use it on your phone without downloading an app
The issue is Google controlled android and Apple controlled IOS. I am fine with degoogled android and other distros on phones. Android has much better battery life than e.g. Fedora. I use separate accounts on Google phones.
My current (cast off phones) are not supported for degoogled OS. I normally use laptops and desktops, which are cast offs or bought used (e.g. just bought a 32G server for $100, has a few broken plastic pieces that aren't essential).
I cannot afford a new phone like Google Pixel (ironically recommended for degoogled android distros).
This link can be set as a PWA on a phone. Browser based but feels/looks like an App
So where does a lightning address come from? Mutiny says it is "self-custody", but I am not running a node - unless it runs in the browser as js.
Web search seems to indicate that you need a lightning node to provide a lightning address. I have bitcoin, not a lightning node. So the mutiny wallet requires that I install a lightning node? I was looking for a custodial lightning address to get started. But others have recommended I keep working on getting a self-hosted lightning node and run it as a leaf node (which doesn't require 24/7 uptime).
Christ Jesus allowed himself to be crucified to atone for our sins as the final sacrifice, defeating death for all time. The people there killed Him because he stood up to authority. And He called us to follow in His footsteps.
