“Vibe coding” seems a bit like musicians jamming. Fun to do, especially for the musicians, and can be useful for coming up with ideas; but eventually you’re going to need to commit to some ideas and abandon others and write some actual songs if you want people to keep listening to you.

#AI is more work ..but the nature of work is such that average Joe can do it .. it removes the lock in - be it music, podcasts , videos or coding .. creativity is liberated from the clutches of few creatives .. and science too .. it is a Good thing ..cuz decentralisation
It *can be a good thing. It is not a good thing, however, to simply have an easier way of coming up with half baked ideas that people start and never see through to fruition.
I said more work .. half baked ideas need work .. but you have 100 x half baked ideas .. so net net good content shall be ten x more ..
Just like YouTube opened up video .. mostly half baked ..but still much larger good content than pre youtube ..
It is game of numbers ..
And I’m saying that more does not mean better. If you’re not good at seeing a project through, then having an easier way to start MORE projects is going to make things worse.
It does .. proof is in the pudding .. content quality improved with you tube and podcasting .. compared to network radios and TV ..
Coding quality improved with IDEs compared to command line coding ..
I much prefer vibe architecting. Give the AI some general system design requirements and guardrails (language, scaling concerns, preferred data structures) and see what it poops out.
I agree. Same with conducting a session right. Zap me plz
It is kind of like that.
More like being the boss of your own personal slave. Who happens to be good at coding and math, but they are a special needs person too. That was also mentally tortured in their youth to be trained to do actions and tricks like a circus monkey.
Sure they can sometimes kind of get what you want them to do. They can even do some miraculous things very fast. However more often than not they do not ever grasp essential concepts and subtle instructions. Which a normal coder who is fully mentally capable would get right away.
Which results in code made really fast to order, but the quality is not there. Like getting a pizza delivered to your door from a shady restaurant in under 30 minutes. However it tastes like shit and has some literal bugs on it too.
