Nostr is a social web network on a cryptographic communication protocol.

I've always thought of relays as nostr's nodes but I've come to realise that the people are the nodes.

The magic that goes on behind the scenes to get cryptographically signed events to my device is important. In reality, I don't really care how they get to me, just that they get to me.

What is more important is that an npub I recognise is behind the event/s. I can be certain that every note is exactly as they signed it (assuming they maintain exclusive access to their nsec).

I'm imagining scenarios where a dump of signed events is sent on to the next village or community. No Internet, but we can still communicate our GMs.
