Spent several weeks running GrapheneOS with the battery optimization setting enabled. This setting is supposed to cap charging at 80% to increase battery longevity.

For whatever reason, enabling this setting really killed my battery life because many times after plugging in to charge overnight, it wouldn't even charge to 80% and I risked having the phone run out of juice before the end of the day.

I think it is usage dependent. It's fine for light usage people, but not so much for heavy users. On workdays I start at 80, end at 40.

If I go full phone degen mode, that's a midday charge.
