Anyone know of any low cost, generally non-toxic ways to protect fruit from bugs & worms? I had previously seen people encouraging wasps to nest near their vegetables to protect them from aphids, but others are saying that wasps have a tendency to go after fruit as it ripens & they have to work to keep them away from their trees.

Netting or Bagging

Neem Oil

Sticky Traps

Beneficial Insects like ladybugs or lacewing

All good. But also try yo develop a healthy living soil to promote the good to over come the bad

Dr bronners soap and cayenne pepper with water helps keep tomato worms and hornets/wasps out of my stuff

DDT baby!!!!

Right, kidding

Bees ๐Ÿ work best and the fruit taste so much sweeter when bees are around

All of the below suggestions plus a regular spraying of very very fine bentonite clay or similar. The idea is that a coating builds up that bugs wont like when they take a bite ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I have heard of people using kaolin clay spray and neem oil as a non-toxic pest repellant. I personally havent done it yet.
