I think we should just let it die! Too much force, too much cost and the graphics are crap. 💩 BUT if they were to use bitcoin as their platform's currency I might reconsider my position. 🤣
I think it's difficult for them to use Bitcoin on their platforms, at least not being the main and only cryptocurrency, they will probably use Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies, if they don't try to create and use their own cryptocurrency in the future as they have tried before.

I thought the same as you, of course we are not completely sure of something, but there is a good opportunity for Meta to gain some extra shots to hit targets, which perhaps most users of their services do not even know what it is and are not so interested still, because Meta itself makes it a little confusing, especially for the masses.
