Gigi, I don't know if I already told you or not, but nostr:nprofile1qqsvkzrvggl6nswy76nse2nv7v8prdje9y3ykftddmv36v3gvu3e02gpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj79hz5z7 is mine. Or in case it wasn't obvious.
The trouble with the people here is that they’re here and they’re being themselves.
Why can they be people that aren’t here for the people that aren’t here.
This is not really what is happening tho is it. If you haven't noticed the meta of nostr then you probably want it to be as it is (bitcointwitter2). And this also involves ignoring/dismissing the countless of people (the ones who bothered to even give feedback) who joined and left because they weren't looking for bitcointwitter2.
I think it’s fine for bitcoiners to be here and be themselves.
I think it’s fine for non bitcoiners to be here, if they find use they’ll stay if they don’t they won’t. That’s fine.
These things literally can’t be forced, people just need to find their own way for their own reasons.
Which I think, surprisingly, is fine.
I disagree with a few assumptions here lol.
'bitcoiners' 'being themselves' is just a bunch of people repeating posting habits from bitcointwitter because there is an environment that encourages this. This mechanism also discourages out-group involvement and especially retention. (Don't give me the slogans about nostr being for everyone lol)
I don't know why people here find this so difficult. Imagine you go to a platform like nostr in regards to privacy, but it is built by Solana people. They say Solana slogans A LOT, when the price of Solana changes they talk about that non stop, they have memes for that too, etc etc. How long would you stay on that? Would you even join it if you knew of the reputation?
And yes it is fine. It is also totally fine if nostr fails. This is what happened to farcaster, it has pretty much failed. It's all fine really and of no importance, I can agree to that lol. But perhaps deliberately replicating bitcointwitter has increased the chance of failure. That is what I'm suggesting:)
