The extension has it on my local computer, but I could just as easily use a different one if I was under the suspicion that it was being communicated to some central server. This isn't really relevant to my point, I'm just talking about the system of having a social identity with a private key that completely separates the very notion of the user from any website, service, or platform. You carry the same "user" with you to all of them.
