another cheap option could be an airgapped (not connected to internet) android phone with bitcoin wallet app

I have an old android phone I could use for this. Know any tutorials or wallets to use for this option?
Wipe data/factory phone (via recovery mode)
Install F-droid if you want to avoid setting up google drive
Download/Install wallet software
Put airplane mode and remove saved wifi password
Create crypto wallet
Backup seed wallet
From now on you MUST avoid connecting it to the internet (if you do, your security may be compromised)

In this case the private key on cold phone sign the message, then the message is forwarded to “normal” phone and then to internet
