Yeah Vitor is pretty open about his dev process. CDN for images is a huge performance boost and makes it much better to use. He's on here, #[2] Try talking to him, that might work better than complaining to no one.
Proxy image resizer? Force auto-translation? Keep it simple. By the way other clients are almost the same.
