I don’t know about y’all but I like seeing a face / human that matches the npub.

Are people that fearful of the government, tech goons, and the deep state. Back in the day we stood face to face with the forcing that be, now we hide behind memes and emojis.

I’m with you. But to each their own I suppose. 🤷‍♂️

The thing is: In my country - Germany - they can raid your House at 5 am in the morning if you post a meme about our politicians.

The will come and take everything digital. No Phone, no computer, everything and they will leave you fucked.

That’s why some people are a bit afraid.

Yea in places like that it’s definitely understandable and I’d do the same. Run tor and all. At that point though I’d probably stay off social media entirely or post very minimal.

So yea you’re right about that. This is not a one size fits all in either direction.

It ain't just government. Make the wrong person mad online, or make them think you have a lot of Bitcoin, and it could put a target on yourself that you don't need. It's preferable to make it more difficult for crazy people to track you down, particularly if you also have a family to worry about their safety.

Yea definitely not a one size fit all but it just seems like 95% of Nostr is talking to a meme behind the screen. Holding bitcoin doesn’t seem like freedom anymore if you have to hide yourself.

Obviously I’m not saying give all your info out there, that’s silly but yea it’s nice to see a few human faces.

Unfortunately, the threat-vector of some asshole figuring out you are a Bitcoiner who likely has enough of a stack to make it worth their while is a very real one. That is going to be the case with any notable asset of value, freedom money or not.

That’s true

Scary indeed

Mordern problems modern solutions. To make it out alive. To fix that perspective, evil side of human race is full of Abstract Power. We need to break and shatter it down. It can't be done in Traditional ways.
