gm does verifying your NOSTR account with a domain that you use for other stuff (such as a personal website) make that domain less safe/more hackable?

No, it's just a file.

No, because you just put a json file in a directory which maps your username to your npub. It‘s just a static file and because of that it’s not less safe in my opinion.

Practically though, if a domain is tied to your identity on nostr, it might become a more interesting target for that reason.

No as it’s just a file and imo makes it more legit.

Ie. Jack@cash.app much more real than if he signed up to one of the generic providers

Not necessarily, however it’s secured it can be hacked if not protected properly.
