Of course this is said in light mood, but it's so fucking Anglo that it makes me tear up.

A couple of days ago my friend from school that I hadn't seen for a couple of years visited, and when he arrived we embraced for a fee seconds and kissed (on the cheek) twice. In my life hugging, kissing and even handshaking were alien and kind of dead air. Handshaking with Indian friends seemed obligatory though. Seeing Europeans doing all these conventions has always been intriguing.

On the other hand, every time I hear American parents/children telling each other "I love you", it creeps the fuck out of me (and most, if not all, people I know in my home country).
