I'm genuinely curious as to why they were so opposed to being filmed. I feel like there is much more to the story here that may have the Chinese in the video wind up in trouble back at their home. (Besides being a total national embarrassment. )

They seemed well trained. I did not hear one word of Mandarin the entire time. I spend lots of time with Chinese people and they constantly use Chinese words in the middle of English sentences by mistake. Even after being in America ten plus years. Like 这个， or 那个。

They must be government officials. The guy definitely went to a international school in China to learn English judging by his accent. Which is expensive.

I assume he is a body guard for the girl next to him. She looks like the wife or a daughter of a high up government official. And he jumped to protect her like he was looking for a promotion.
