Coinbase in partnership with Lightspark has launched Lightning integration. It's 2024. About time. https://www.coinbase.com/blog/coinbase-integrates-bitcoins-lightning-network-in-partnership-with

Brian Armstrong is now an unlicensed money transmitter 🤣
Is he tho? As a publicly traded company I would imagine they have a license like CashApp and Strike do
Good point because their lightning integration doesn't work in New York state or Canada.
I partially implemented the UMA spec. It’s a bunch of KYC and surveillance hooks hiding behind a lightning address. Initially I was interested (might still be) but it’s really an information harvesting and surveillance system grafted on to the lightning address protocol.
I remember reading that and essentially thinking the same thing. It's a way to bring regulation to Lightning. They even mention regulations in their website.
Yep. The idea is that if you put a $ sign in front of your lightning address, it indicates that it is going to the KYC stuff (spray your personal information everywhere according to the travel rule). I kinda lost interest because it felt like a path to capture.
