Next up, building a case/cover to make it more beautiful somehow.

Anyways, It's whisper silent now.

Yeah I know this, shipping is too expensive. 300 bucks for some plastic and don't have a 3d printer especially not a a large one.

Thinking more of something like this.

Wow! Amazing!

Is that......wood..... !

Yup. The area around is not getting that hot, as the warm air is blown out by the fan. I just don't know how to build something like this myself (yet)

I'm ignorant on this topic.

It looks & sounds to me like an S9 with an upgraded fan.

Is that's what's going on?

Yes. That's exactly what's going on. Brining down the noise so can run it in the apartment during fall/winter to heat.

Running an S9 is not economic where I live.

Running an S9 instead of an electric heater/gas on the other hand sounds very reasonable. Also given I produce some electricity myself.

Yeah definitely better than running an element based electric heater. At least an S9 produces more than just heat πŸ˜‰

It doesn't make much sense in my climate (and electricity prices) but it's still interesting to me.

It's amazing the difference a better fan makes to the noise.

LFG!

Change of plan: Next up I ordered this 140mm to exhaust hose 3d printed adapter. Let's see if I can move the miner's heat to the next room or maybe come up with something to move heat around the whole apartment.

Just the upgraded fan made it this quiet ? wow nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev you ever thought about upgrading your fans so you never have to shut down while on a podcast ? πŸ‘€ curious if it doesn’t bother you or if it’s a hassle to upgrade them all

It's 3 upgraded fans (in, out and power supply) and running on 650w. But yes.

The only problem with those fans (and almost all β€œsilent” branded fans) is they don’t move nearly the volume as the stock onboard fans. I wouldn’t run them on anything above low power mode, and honestly wouldn’t trust that very much either.

I *am* changing my fans either way though, but I’ve got beefier miners (Whatsminer M30s), and I want it to really move some air because it’s going to be in my central ducting system.

Ive purchased AC infinity fans for testing/exploring.

Holy fu- that’s an insane set up my fren πŸ‘€ you ever document the journey ? I’m recently getting very interested in seeing the progression of these set ups and experimentation like the one you’ll be conducting

Yeah. I have some short videos that I just randomly punished from last year, but didn’t really get into much of the whole setup. Now that winter is returning I intend to get the first stage up and running pretty soon, so hopefully I’ll get to share the design.

Saylessssss πŸ™ thank you!!

*published* if that typo wasn’t obvious 🀣

I don’t spend much energy punishing my video work, lol

🀣🀣🀣 I’ve learned to pick up on typos faster n love them ever since joining nostr! Hahaah glad your don’t punish your videos πŸ«‚πŸ’œ

I played around with mine a bit and they go around 25-40% on autotune. Still silent enough, and room gets really warm (better than the old heating I have here).

Yoooo! Is it only a new fan? I got an s9 space heater coming

It's 3 fans. (In, out, power supply) and 2 adapters 120to140mm. But yes.
