Non-Mac laptops (Windows and Linux) completely suck. I have completely given up on them. It's not even close.
Linux works well on my desktop though. But that's it.

my linux laptop has 20min battery life
I completely understand this sentiment. I've been a Mac user for over 15 years, hardware and software certified. I tried making the switch to Linux a few years ago but couldn't duplicate my workflow because the DEs weren't up to par. Now KDE Plasma with Wayland has everything I need to duplicate my macOS workflow and I'll only run Linux on Lenovo thinkpads and when I get my frame.work laptop, I don't expect to have to buy another computer for the next 7-10 years. My M2 Mac Air will be my last Apple product. I cannot trust these companies at all with my data and we no longer have to compromise. All the open source hardware and software exists for a mass exodus of our digital lives.
thinkpads are still the best. you can even get metal looking ones if youre into that.. also, they have this long lost thing we used to call "ports"
I dump my non-mac laptops after 2 weeks trying 🥲. I will never try it again.
I had decent results with Linux on the G513Qy full AMD laptop. Battery life was semi-decent.
Windows can’t even sleep properly. It tries to do a lot of bullshit while its supposed to be sleeping.
But yeah nothing beats MacBooks.
