Once in a while there is a sound like someone threw a cold turkey leg at the kitchen window & then there is a small bird upside down on the deck. I go out & right them but they don't seem to register that I am there for quite some time. This one took about 20 minutes to fully wake up, but then flew to a nearby tree like everything was fine.

Collision causes circuits to mess up and system needs to reboot. Surveillance systems remain optimal during this downtime.
I have the same problem. If you want to stop it there are adhesive stickers you can apply to the glass to increase the likelihood of birds detecting it's a solid object.
