Youth is vastly overrated, but what it is terribly important for is finding a life partner.

The story that you should first experience everything and be "free", first "invest in yourself" and then everything else, is the most failed advice in the history of mankind.

People who "invest in themselves" and then look for a partner for the rest of their lives in their forties have almost no chance because they are looking for someone who has to fit into an already formed system of values and lifestyle. The phase of mutual growth has been skipped, so the chance for the success of such a relationship is much smaller. I don't think it needs to be said that biology is also less of an ally at these ages.

My wife is everything to me and I can't (nor do I want to) imagine my life without her. We have changed each other in so many ways that we are not even aware of most of it.

If heaven hadn't brought us together in our mid twenties and if I had continued to develop in my own direction and she in hers, given our initial differences, we probably wouldn't have ended up together today and achieved everything we have.

So, youth is only good for finding a life partner because the criteria are not particularly high. πŸ˜€ So my wife agreed to me, and the rest is history. πŸ˜€
