Why does this fail to block and hide this annoying reply bot?

See his npub and the npub of nrw replies... they're different. Probably creating new accounts programmatically.

You can click on his profile, see his relays, then click Remove to the shared ones.

I might do that but that seems like an overkill solution. I doubt it wants to pollute relays that are not popular

You have to hide by words. Just add ReplyGuy to your hidden words in the security filters.

It hid your post but not the reply bot's. I ended up removing myself from all the relays that we had in common. I have no idea why relay mods are allowing this thing to ruin the experience

Are you paying for those relays? You can't ask much from free ones..

Can you not? In the relationship between the user and the relay, who is providing a service to whom?

Are nostr users consumers or content providers?

Should YouTube ask users to pay for hosting videos? Turns out that's not how it works, instead YouTube is paying its (contributing) users.

Twitter/X/Elon were also at least contemplating paying users for Tweets.

Remember your relay is useless if it doesn't carry notes worth reading.

you get what you pay for! free relays are trash.

It's like when torrentings was popular. Sometimes you would get a little virus with it. 🤣

I torrent all the time, haven't gotten a virus in years. I get what you're saying, but being p2p doesn't always mean trash. Also, newcomers from twitter aren't gonna like the free experience they're used to getting if nothing is done to curb these annoying bots. Nostr will feel more like 4chan before captcha
