Normies: Linux is confusing you have to keep troubleshooting everything

Me after spending all morning googling solutions to an incomprehensible error from Windows Update:

After getting used to Linux I literally cannot daily drive Windows anymore, its straight up hot garbage... Not to mention spyware.

This. I like to understand how my system works and what daemons are running.

The number of services running in a Windows system on fresh boot is terrifying.

Ditch Windows and macOS, install Debian or Fedora 🐧

Wish my company felt the same but they'll just tell me "you can run Linux on Windows with WSL" ffs...

At least my personal machines are 100% Linux.

Got a new laptop recently, Framework, it's modular and user repairable while still being thin and light, best laptop I have literally ever owned.

You can even upgrade the CPU!

And it was hardware privacy switches that disable the camera and mics 👌

yeah- the word sovereign gets overused a bit, but the way I think of it, your computing devices are increasingly part of your brain, your exocortex - you share so much information with them that they're a part of you

having that part of you working for someone else, not having sovereignty over it, is anincreasingly dangeorus and unpleasant
