What would this mean for something like Matrix?
+1 for Mullvad. Been happy with it for a while.
Interesting. What build are you on? Mine's still working on 2025040700
Which phone are you on? Everything is looking good on my 6a and tablet
I think a really fun thing to do is to combine this with Fermi estimates. It's one thing to just try to multiply numbers together as a puzzle, but the real satisfaction comes when you realize how much you can understand and predict the world without reaching for any tools.
This is only accelerating the replication crisis that was already there. We're going to need a lot more traceability and reproducibility tech going forward

what's the best #nostr CLI right now?
I wonder if one day,we'll actually see public-key cryptography used for this kind of thing, authenticating that decisions like this actually came from the principal. Seal rings for a modern age.
I really don't think so- in the same way that compilers removed the need for machine code but not programmers, there will always be a need for people who think things into existence
until AGI, but then it's nobody's problem
happy new year, nostr! here's to a good 2024
i do love a good port number 🚢 here’s to more shipping in 2024 🎉 https://video.nostr.build/730ee82e9a5d9562c6ecd1e466b57785bd79d3cc5ad3b825565f280eb3ff3bbc.mp4
nerdiest obsession: i love container ports. global logistics is rad as hell.

stay paranoid, stay free

that makes sense! probably would, at least for 4G connection. could also play music over Bluetooth to check that?
that's sick! how do you test something like that after you build it?
that's an incredibly impressive attack. it's a good reminder that no pure technical measures will ever be enough- got to have the tradecraft.
the most domineering cop is the one in your head
book rec: The Inner Game of Tennis. Don't let the title fool you: regardless of whether or not you play tennis, it's one of the best short texts on performance psych out there.
Whitney Webb on WBD recently really took me and my bitcoin optimism to a dark place. I feel like bitcoin destroys all current business models but the whole idea that somehow legacy finance can / will co-opt bitcoin is incredibly disappointing.
Also, Fred the finance boomer you had on recently also just made me mad … his apathy and entitlement … as I have learned bitcoin it feels like bitcoin is set to just expose so much about the legacy system(s) but Fred was pretty bearish outside of any value beyond ETFs.
(Also, a caveat, I only listened to WBD because nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m linked out WW on NOSTR … PM is insufferable.)
I think you can be realistic without being pessimistic. A post-bitcoin world won't be the city on the hill- it will have corruption, and rent-seeking, and powerful men using power for their own benefit.
and yet it will solve some problems, and things will improve. no rapture, no Utopia: just slowly solving problems, building capital, making things better
if you haven't practiced being weird in everyday life, how will you be ready to be weird when it counts?
