But that is exactly what it is, and what it only can be, you ask for a deletion, so it will only occur if accepted. What is confusing about that, it seems straightforward to me.

Perhaps that people dont understand that that is the reality of things, fine, but that is a different problem altogether imo. (And as a result has different sollutions)

I get that it is technically true, perhaps confusing for a new person or someone who hasn't really read up on what is happening here. Probably not very many people around here atm would wouldn't know this, but it may be less so as nostr grows and attracts people (?)

I don't know. It's fine either way lol

But sir, unless its your own fucking computer, you by definition are always requesting things. You request facebook or instagram to delete things.

The fact that people perhaps never thought about it, does not mean that they cant and wont understand.

How many people, atleast vaguely, are aware of this 'on the internet everything is forever' notion? Its probably not front and center in their mind, but they atleast heard of it i recon.

I get it and I'm sure most people online have heard that phrase. I think what people may be used to is other users not being able to see 'deleted' posts. But everyone is pretty familiar with everything is forever online type thing. Maybe not with the notion of everything being forever and for other users too. I think perhaps the unspoken part I'd about everything being forever and accessible (for corporations and intelligence services) lol.

But yeah, I'm not arguing against anything you said obvs

To be clear, i am not unsympathetic to the idea normies are retarded and like to be treated as such under the banner of 'UX'. But on this particular topic i think it should be manageable for their feeble minds on the one hand. But on the other i also think such notions do deserve more explicit attention because it informs expectations and therefor behavior; i.e. maybe think twice what you publicize (idle hope on my end, i know...😅)
