No amount of “reward” can buy one’s peace of mind back. I regard him/her/them as messianic. Could I be wrong? Sure, but it gives me hope. ₿ hold!

What exactly do you mean when you say messianic?
Not meaning to be sacrilegious. I offer that one who brought redemption for many who were perhaps lost, misled, or reviled, must be a sort of savior to lead them out of the wilderness so-to-speak.

I admire one who can build a global whatsit that pull others out of poverty and degradation and then walk away in such an apparently unselfish, modest manner. I suppose he/she/them/it could have been killed. It is endlessly fascinating that such a one could exist, similar to Jesus and his miracles and sacrifice. We have no hard proof of either men/entities; only hard proof of their legacies.
