This was a lifesaver for me: add a drop of dish soap to your water when cutting in — smoother lines, fewer brush marks. Bonus: it makes cleaning up way easier.

Thanks. I'll give you that one, with a BIG caveat :) Dish soap does reduce surface tension of water-based paints, which improves flow. But... Next time, please use a properly formulated and compatible #Paint conditoner such as Floetrol.

To avoid cissing ( pinholing) pro painters in UK started adding Dish soap to water- based acrylate enamels from Tikkurila, arguably the most technically advanced Paint company in the business.

You can imagine with their knowledge of chemistry why their tech department went ballistic hearing that hairy-assed painters thought they knew better and were dropping unmeasured amounts of Fairy Liquid into their multi billion dollar Paint. 😂

If you have nothing else, Dish soap is a get out of jail tip. But Who knows how It degrades the finish. Floetrol on the other hand improves the Paint formulation especially of cheaper látex/vinyl emulsion paints.
