Well I am German and from Hamburg and I was living 10 years in FL...although I really liked it, I still call it the third world of the US...people there are just different, carefully spoken, however the prices increased so much that as an European you can hardly afford holidays there... so culture wise we are just better in Hamburg

Thanks a lot for your comment. Yes, it was a pretty expensive work/vacation trip. But I feel drawn into the southern US and I liked the Floridians. I was in Miami, Fort Myers, Tampa and Orlando. Specifically loved Tampa. Miami was also amazing. But I didn't find an area comparable to the walkable inner city areas of Hamburg in any of them. Why would u considered it the third world of the US? Pretty sure it's one of the richer US states, right? What are it's main differences to Texas for example?

I know the Tampa area well, I was in the Bradenton/Sarasota area (Anna-Maria Island). You got to realize that FL is a "retirement state". Third world of the US is a saying from the northern people because they are acting and thinking slow in FL and the education is not that good. Do not compare these states to Europe. They are just different but isn“t this the whole thing about life? Not being equal?

Ok, yeah I want to get to know the US better specifically because I suspect them to be different to the Europeans. Next I think I'll check out Texas. Am trying to start a business in the US.
