Great idea. How long were they in the ground. We tried garlic for the first time this year. They didn't do too well.
Onions did ok.
In zone 5a in Iowa I plant the garlic between Halloween and Thanksgiving so about 6 months…

In my lasted garden bed it’s 100% compost and I sprinkled a little fertilizer in with my worm poop!
