This is what progressives used to be about (ok not private money but they would’ve been more open to it once upon a time)

Those that come to the bitcoin side (myself) become those types of progressives/left again. nostr:note1hd7a3dhfm47jqhqgahpftk0kx68nk6fe3hq0jtmpqhjhppy0xj8s3w4n5e

Genuine question: what does this mean in practice? The current political left in most countries doesn't appear to be in favor of these ideals. Everything must be accomplished through government control and intervention, according to them.

Yah the current political left imo just doesn’t know how money or economics works and needs education. They’d end up more left libertarian in the end.

Most progressives are socially progressive, and just go with the flow with left state economics—with education and bitcoins that could change! It did for me

This is pretty much what I was hoping your answer would be. We don't all need to end up as pure anarcho-capitalists, and I think many differences in ideologies here might even just be one of priorities than of actual differences of opinion. If Bitcoin (and Nostr) does what we think it will do, the world looks better. I think we agree on that.

Politically though, that must put you in a tough spot. For me, I mostly feel like simply opting out of the system is the way to go. So good on you for working to spread the Bitcoin message in progressive communities. Keep it up! The more orange pills the better, 100%.

I don't think Progressives have ever been about the free market, either.

However, I've always loved good principled Progressives because they're great on my biggest issues: war, mass incarceration, cronyism, and censorship.

Perhaps you’re right. Neither have republicans 😂
