Replying to nobody

Just finished cleaning the insides of:

* 2019 MacBook Pro 16”

* Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5

Winners:

Ease of access: ThinkPad (barely)

Build quality: MacBook (not close. Thinkpad is a piece of shit on inside, tiny speakers just died within 2 weeks, everything plastic)

Cooling solution: MacBook (by a landslide. Thinkpad idles at 80C)

Upgradability: Thinkpad (SSD and Ram x2)

Cost: MacBook (it was half the price of this Thinkpad)

Overall, I’m floored that $4000 into a “workstation class” laptop, it sucks in this many ways compared to a stock MacBook. I’ll never buy Lenovo again.

I still miss my Pentium 1 model. I dropped it weekly at work (industrial) and it never missed a tick.

I also miss my old IBM 🙂

I keep a lot of old hardware, I have thought about buying a din-> usb or din->ps2 converter and go back to using the keyboards I have accumulated. They sounded great! Nothing to envy to the mechanical ones nowadays.
