With the exception of some religious individuals and sociopaths, everyone generally agrees that consent is essential in all forms of human interaction between adults.

Consent is needed in trade. Consent is needed in relationships. Consent is needed during sex. But somehow consent doesn't matter when it comes to taxes and government actions.

There are people who don’t fit those categories but just can’t seem to connect the dots on how taxes are not consensual. They say that taxes are voluntary but then turn into NPCs when you ask them to explain how.
