They sell better lightbulbs in Mexico don’t they? Like, US ones just suck. Or am I hallucinating that my US bulbs are not as bright as the Mexican ones?

Well, the Mexican bulb didn’t have that. Bought a US bulb at target and it is DIM. Next trip to Mexican Walmart, I’m buying light bulbs.
They use cane sugar instead of corn syrup
Brighter probably means worse.
Incandescent is what you want.

Lumens per watt is the measurable, along with lifespan.
It's probably not the brightness but the colour of the light that you're noticing that's different.
