That was my initial take (the guest) - he seemed scared… and full of regret.

Selling your soul to fiat banking might have that effect, I suppose

I didn’t really watch the show, but I went and saw the finale of Stranger Things with my wife yesterday and I’m curious as to why no one has written or spoken about how Bitcoin relates to the show?

2026 - more talk, more action

Meditate on that which breeds resentment

Trust your nervous system…. on point even if it came from a spook nostr:npub1rjwumr7j6tac08t0qttvc44walt549nc4eyyxjc0phn6yxzj7uzq0accc9

Hard to look to the UK for any source of signal right now, but I’ll take it

There are few things that I think are assymetrically important to understand right now. Bitcoin and Phish are two.

For bitcoiners, Phish is especially important because the birth and evolution of the scene provides insight on longevity and focus within a free market of ideas and individual expression.

I understand the overarching point but isn’t the ordinary father described here living in an illusory world?

I’ll trade truth for one dimensional/ ignorance is bliss normalcy all day

I remember when Tom Kite (golfer) crossed $1M in career earnings, and it was a huge deal. About the same era as Gretzky

Jewelry shops do this. You’ll lose a palm digging into one without proper tools

Don’t be an idiot.

Compassion and empathy have been hijacked by media and algos.

In Chögyam Trungpa's teachings, "idiot compassion" refers to a misguided form of kindness that stems from the three poisons of Buddhism: grasping, aggression, and delusion.

It's a compassion that avoids difficult truths, reinforces unhealthy patterns, and ultimately doesn't help the person in need. Instead of genuine empathy, it's driven by a desire to feel good, avoid conflict, or manipulate others to feel better about oneself.

Don’t be an idiot.

And Richard, I really enjoyed you on Once Bitten. You handled Lauren’s opening question with class and Daniel seemed to return the gesture giving you plenty of space. High signal rip.

Hit me like a ton of bricks.

It’s true, bitcoiners are living in the future.

A smaller cohort have integrated the reality of a bitcoin future to the extent that they are aligning their time and energy now with skills and relationships that will cultivate reciprocal value and love moving forward.

Not straddling worlds between broken and sound money but complete focus and commitment towards the latter.

I use the word integrate intentionally. Ultimately, bitcoin is akin to a spiritual awakening or major psychedelic experience.

Message to self (and shared):

Pull yourself up by your proverbial fucking bootstraps, create a vision for your life integrating everything you have learned to this point, write it down, and keep it moving.
