Your body adapts differently to different stressors. There ar different kinds of endurance. That high intensity stuff is gonna increase your vo2 max which is a predictor of longevity. The lower zone is more sustainable over time so you can burn some more calories. In ancient times that would have been your ability to outrun predators. Humans are the best distance runners on the planet. It’s our one advantage over animals.
