I don’t even live there, but Jan 2022 changed things for me as well, put a boot in my ass, and got me to get everything off exchanges!! So, currently having some cognitive dissonance, should I be grateful for Trudeau?!?!?

And I learnt from others and got off twitter. I didn’t want the police knocking on my door and receiving hard time just for a poorly worded tweet. Never mind knife crime in the UK, gotta keep those middle aged keyboard warriors off their phones to keep the streets safe.
When i was banned from every restaurant. When i banned from leaving the province to be with my family on Christmas. When i was called a plague rat by people i knew even though i already had covid and was immune. It showed how “nice canadians” would turn on you just as fast as the people under Nazis when they are afraid enough.
Lots of people missed out on saying goodbye to loved ones who had to die alone on hospitals because of stupid restrictions. Many will never forget how they were treated during that period of time...including yourself.
I saw that first hand. It was awful!

Great question. I am an immigrant here. Arrived during the Harper administration and have fond memories of that time. It was not long ago, but it was a different Canada.
I would say the deterioration was gradual, but 2020 seems to have accelerated it. Out of control money printing, indiscriminate immigration, violence getting worse, falling standard of living.
The Canada I live in today is not the Canada 🇨🇦 I immigrated to, that is for sure.
