He is really trying to push that narrative of him being a free speech hero.
Without him we would be absolutely fucked. Instead people here are presenting @jack Dorsey as some kind of hero when he actually banned Trump hours after this:

Musk said it himself that he wants to develop the US version of WeChat (the surveillance app which everything is done through in China) and that's where X is headed.
When are you going to assess what he’s actually have done with X? And compare with Jack Dorsey who was an unmitigated disaster but somehow people here are judging him for what he’s SAYING, not for what he’s actually done, which is to have undermined the freedom of speech….
