GM Nostr. European guy here who likes American people and still wants us to be friends and allies. Could you tell me what the hell this statement is supposed to mean?? Is this how most of you feel?

I don't like the government or this president in particular, but I do think it's important for European countries to have their own defense.
If I could turn back time I would have kept the US out of the first world war and we wouldn't still be involved in this mess.
On the European defense part I fully agree, we neglected it for decades. I dont equate governments of nations with the people so I know many of you dont like this either.. but I find it surreal to paint your former trusted allies almost as enemies now meanwhile blowing kisses to murderous psychopaths (you know who...)

I can't speak for anyone else, but from what I have witnessed while traveling in Europe and watching the news in the US there is a tremendous amount of propaganda painting Putin as Hitler and claiming that he plans to take over all of Europe.
He is a war criminal without question, just as any commander of an army at war inevitably becomes. However, I think the belief that he plans to invade the rest of Europe after Ukraine doesn't make sense.
Nato initiated the conflict in Ukraine by putting weapons to close to Russians border. Putin warned not to do this many years ago and the US promised not to encroach.
Both Obama and Biden broke that promise, which is what started the conflict.
We can agree that Putin is a war criminal and nothing he says can be taken seriously. I believe he doesn't have the means to invade Europe and it would be foolish to do so... but history tells us that Russians are not to be trusted, by that I mean the Kremlin. It also frustrates me how docile and weak the European leadership is, it's as if they all woke up with a massive hangover. I don't want to start any arguments and I still strongly believe that people in the US are moral and kindhearted people. Your representatives in the government however, they could be better and the same goes for the European elected leaders. Currently it's the Ukrainians who are the real heroes and they sacrifice so much for us in Europe. We are a bunch of armchair experts at this point. Sorry for the rant, I had to get it out of my system. Love to you all, puravida 💜
