one of the best tools individuals have against shit politicians is moving

Lamentable

Or barring a future prime minister from your CBI conference dinner as my father did to Gordon Brown when he turned up in a business suit to a black tie event πŸ˜‚

The unhappiest British PM ever.

I quite liked him, not for his policies but because he was a miserable cunt.

Free will baby!

free the willy

Move and uproot your entire life because of an asshole mayor?

Not an option for many.

well i moved five years ago, so this mayoral election is simply one product of a more worrisome trend

and if you cant afford to move i get it, that sucks

I changed the country because of that, one of the best decisions of my life. Also, sometimes we need a fresh start.

well played

Former NYCer. City went to shit a LONG time ago. Anyone on the island... Watch Escape from New York as your training guide.

what if you have your house, family, job, assets, friends... in that city? it's easier said than done for most

> if you can afford to move

got it! thought that was meant financially.

I guess most people will have a reason like the ones i mentioned that makes them stay, even though they know the trend ain't good

yup and thats why nyc (and cali, etc) wont turn for the better for awhile

mayor elections in big blue cities = rearranging titanic deck chairs

lot of good bitcoiners here tho

there used to be more

Vibe has definitely shifted over the past 5 years. Now all I see are suits.

Ppl always complain about elections. Has anyone actually been happy with a president the last two decades? Doesn't mean you should leave america... Same applies to your city

Lived in NYC for a decade. Still fucking love it. Best city in the world for lots of things. The art, culture, parties, events, niche communities are unmatched. BUT, the cost of living, the heavy focus on socialism, the insane taxes, the diversion between the ultra rich and the middle class failing to afford rent was so so so stark that I left. Maybe when BTC is a million, I'll move back πŸ˜‚
