I was about to say, can you even imagine working down a mine like that being normal. I cant, really πŸ€”

12 years old my great-gramps started his first shift. He also fought in WW1 which he survived and went back to work down the mine and had a heavy piece of machinery smash the side of his skull in. Survived that too! I am pathetic in comparison.

Whoa. Badass. They don’t make β€˜em like that anymore do they.

But also, we should be doing better considering how hard they worked to get us here.

Yeah, I often feel like that too. The sacrifices they went through. WW1 was the beginning of mass industrial warfare. Plus the industrial revolution which was in its heyday was great for productivity but terrible for the workers. How easy we have today in comparison. Sometimes I often feel people lose sight of that.

Yeah, you hear people say "but our time has it's own struggles" but man, conditions have improved so much!

Our times are more spiritually challenging to find meaning and purpose. Back then, you didn't really have time for that because you had to work and there was no aspiration. The family unit was tight too. That said, some people do have it difficult today and there's no denying that. On the whole, though, it's much easier materially.

Whoah that is truly something. He sounds like a titan of some sorts 😯
