Do we believe the 9.7% yield on LN news? Curious of everyone’s takes.

I think LNBIG disclosed their numbers just a month or two ago and I faintly remember that the yield was definitely not in that ballpark. It was mentioned in some rabbit hole recap a while back

LNbig is extremely poorly managed in terms of maximizing yield though. I earn far higher than LNbig with a small fraction of the liquidity.

Interesting, do your numbers fit into the ballpark of ~9%?

This past week has been incredible, but not necessarily typical. 30-day avg is closer to 5-6% (and rising), but I don’t have anywhere near the amount of capital or the captive user base that c= does!

Yep. A ton of traffic the past weeks.

Definitely been insane!

Without knowing details, that would be orders of magnitude more than I ever heard from any node operator but if they have captured some niche users where they can charge that much with fast turnover for example, good for them.

At least a big part of their sources are CashApp users. The node is positioned in such a way that any payment from those users have to go out via the c= node. On the way back I'm not sure if they catch all the traffic but all outbound from CashApp goes via c=.

Kinda feels like a shadow fee for CashApp users since they both fall under Block.

Presumably this doesn’t account for the cost of closing channels which could be substantial over time?

Why close when there are many ways to add liquidity to said channels at least i think havent ran a node whose main purpose was routing in a long tkme .

Yes, no doubt.

My (much smaller!) node has been earning well lately. LN tx volume and fees has been through the roof last few weeks.
