Same here - but I had a 30+ year career to accumulate based upon the model that worked in that period: Buy house(es) and invest in stocks/mutual funds. Hard to flip and go full-maxi with a portfolio. Having said that, I intend to spend all of it - including unloading the houses - before selling the Bitcoin. Of course, Morpheus (and Saylor) says "then you won't have to".
Of course, I'd ALSO like to support a Bitcoin circular economy to do my small part to accelerate adoption...

Agreed - I actually prepped a slide deck for my wife to convince her why we needed to take a bigger allocation - as well as use BTC as the "Treasury" for our two small businesses.
How did she respond?
She’s always trusted me - she is wary that I allocated a decent percentage when I really believed, and I keep her aware of how the government continues to try and hinder/FUD Bitcoin…which can make her more anxious.
But she’s also seen how the government has steadily sought to compromise our sovereignty. So as long as I don’t go sell everything and buy BTC - we seem to be OK. 😆

does it make any sense to plugin an S9 at home? I already run a node and have always wanted to mine, but the economics of it don’t quite click. If I get $0.11/kWh, do I just eat costs until I eventually win a block? does that happen on average enough to make sense? I’ve looked at miner stats sites that typically say you lose money, so do solo miners just take one for the team?

You can pool your hashrate and get a more regular payout. Though you'll get some of that eaten up in fees to the mining pool.
Solo mining with low hashrate you're probably just going to be running a loud ass heater.
makes sense. even the pooling estimates eg AntPool show a loss. sounds like itd just be for the heat, thanks!
It only makes sense if you need the heat and you would otherwise pay for it.
Impossible for it to make sense unless you have access to the cheapest energy on the planet, basically.

One of my Ledgers has hundreds of TX from small address deposits from years of stacking sats.
Q. Is it worth consolidating the stack into a single address?
This is up to the individual based on their future spending needs.
The benefit to consolidating your utxos is that future transactions will only have one input and one output, so they'll be cheaper on fees.
The trade off is you leak a lot of privacy.
I personally consolidate some utxos to save on future fees when the mempool is cheaper.
That was the band if you have KYC and non-KYC said it wouldn’t make sense to mingle them together so you would still be better off having them separate. However if they’re all coming from the same exchange them in my makes sense for better and easier management of this. ETA axles

My sats have been stacked from probably two dozen different exchanges. I don't know which address came from where at this point and I've re used many of the address several times.
I recently looked at moving the entire stack into one address and the fee was going to be about $55
